The Glen lies within the Cairngorms National Park, and also incorporates the Corrie Fee Nature Reserve - which is home to many endangered plants. There is an ancient track that starts in Glen Doll, and reaches all the way to Braemar (in Royal Desside).
With dirt tracks running along the hills, this area is also popular with mountain bikers, who are looking for a very special off-road experience. Two mountain bikes rides that are popular with dirt track cyclists are the Braemar to Glen Doll (via Glen Callater and the Tollmount) route, and the Glendoll to Ballater (via the Capel Mount and Glen Muick) ride.
The upper reaches of the Glen are a botanist's paradise. Several species of alpine plant can be found here, one of the few places in Britain where you can find them. Species of plant that you can find here include the alpine coltsfoot, the sedge Carex norvegica and the alpine milk vetch. With regards to wildlife, keep an eye out for the silhouettes of deer and for ptarmigan amongst the heather.
