In April 1998, Angus Council set up a Ranger Service for the Angus Glens, which is based at Glen Doll and staffed by two full-time rangers. The aim of the Ranger Service is to:
- Provide information and advice on the natural history of the Glens,
- Offer advice to walkers and climbers,
- Advise visitors on land management and countryside access matters,
- Maintain the footpaths, bridges, stiles, signposts, hill and forest paths,
- Provide leadership for guided walks, workshops and conservation projects.
In particular, the Angus Glens Ranger Service is especially keen to encourage activity groups to visit the five Angus Glens: i.e. Isla, Prosen, Clova, Esk and Lethnot. As a result, much of their work comprises of meeting with school-children, students and other groups, so as to help people enjoy and appreciate everything that the Angus Glens have to offer.
