Gorge Walking in Angus

phoot of a man canyoning and gorge walking image in AngusGorge walking and canyoning are now established as top adventure sports and Angus is blessed with some special and spectacular locations.

Gorge walking is for all ages and abilities and takes place in fantastic locations in the Angus Glens.

A typical walk will include sliding down the rapids, sampling the 'washing machine' plus the thrill and adrenalin rush of tackling the "big leap".

Canyoning has all the thrills and spills of a gorge walk but with one or two extras thrown in.

One route in Angus includes experiencing the thrill of a 75ft abseil, swimming under one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the country, leaping into a river and climbing out to discover a fantastic viewpoint.

And if you enjoy gorge walking, you are sure to enjoy coasteering, which is similar and can be enjoyed up and down the Angus coastline.

You'll also find windsurfing and canoeing at locations across Angus - both on the coast and at inland lochs and rivers.

Gorge walking sessions are fully instructed and include full safety briefings and demonstrations of swimming and jumping techniques. All equipment is provided, including wetsuits, helmets, boots, gloves and buoyancy aids.
